Modify the intra class UOM conversion

We are on 11510 and below is my question

We have a request from business to change the intra class uom conversion for an item. My question is if we change the uom conversion and the item has been transacted several times, will it change the transaction history of the item or in other words do we need to manipulate the additional / reduced quantities of the item like cycle counting/misc issue etc
