Accumulated depreciation is greater than the cost
I am trying to understand why the accumulated depreciation is greater than the cost when retiring an asset. Below is the run down of exactly what I did:
Units retired were 17, retirement type: sale, proceeds of sales: 26,500.45 -->Clicked continue --> Filled unit changed to -17--->Following that, I see that the accumulated depreciation is bigger than the cost. Then I checked account gain and loss sale equipment, and I don't understand why there is a debit in that account that is the same for the NBV of the asset.
