HTML Quoting cannot clear configured components line types

I have an issue with Quoting where adding a line type to a configured item populates the components of the configuration but if the line type needs to be backed out we can only change the model and cannot access the sub lines to clear the line type. 

What is the correct way of clearing these values without having to remove the lines and re-configure new models?
