Can we connect an infiniband switch to a infiniband gateway switch to create a tiered network?

I'm new to Infiniband and was wondering if I can create an Infiband network by connecting a IB gateway switch to existing network and connect a IB switch to IB gateway switch to create a tiered network.

E.g

Existing network <---> IB GW Switch <------> IB Switch <-----> Server & Storage

                                                                l---> IB Switch <-----> Server & Storage

Will I be able to use the EoIB function of the IB GW switch from the IB switch level?
