JDE 9.1 on physical hardware vs. VMWare

Hi, I need some advise as we are upgrading JDe 898/812 to 9.1. Our current system is on 32-bit VMWare environment using Windows 2003.

We want to upgrade to 64-bit Windows 2012/2008R2. Can I get some recommendations whether we should upgrade to VMWare or to physical hardware. Our upgraded system will have more users and apps. We are looking for more performance, scalability, and flexibility.

Are there any customers using JDE 9.1 on vmware? Any issues?

What is the recommendation from Oracle?
