I am looking for steps to convert standby database which is in open mode with read only to snapshot database or guaranteed restore point    in read write mode for DR testing.

my questions are

1. Do   I need to shutdown my  standby DB and put it in Mount state inorder to convert to snaphot? or can I convert from read only mode.
