Help setting up Solaris10u11 LDAP Client

client: newly built box running Solaris10u11.

Server: cluster of four  RHEL5 running DSEE7

I've got other solaris10u8 and solaris10u10 boxes which are authenticating to this box just fine, as well as linux boxes.

I can authenticate to the ldap server from the new box at the command line using plain text but NOT if I use -ZZ, which makes me think this is a pam_ldap TLS type issue

password auth is not working

# getent passwd betsys

#      <- should have returned my info, returns blank

getting a steady flow of errors in /var/adm/messages                 (<EXAMPLE> and <REMOVED>  put in for purposes of posting)
