PDF book size in 11.1.2.3 too large

Hi, while we go back and forth with tech support, I want to see if anyone in the community has observed an issue with PDF book/report output in 11.1.2.3 being roughly 10 times the size of (11.1.1.3), not to mention book/report generation being consequentially slower? Since the upgrade to 11.1.2.3, we have had significant issues with book sizes that creates problems for the batch process and successful (email) delivery of books. We received the following step to implement below, but unless we missed something, it did not resolve our issue. Any recommended steps I can pass along to our IT
