Problems with InfoDoc 1004229.1 - Unnecessary "show" commands.

Oracle InfoDoc 1004229.1 was referred to as a process to follow while diagnosing a memory error at the Severity 1 level. When we go to step d) the process asked us to set the SC into service mode and then to issue two 'show' commands: 'showfmerptlog1 -v" and "showfmerptlog2 -v". We issued the first command and watch for endless minutes as this command spit out all manner of detail (@ 9600 baud). Why are these commands requested in this document? There are no instructions to capture this output as part of the diagnostics for the case. The time wasted watching this output
