Change in Org Calendar

Our company implemented Oracle 12.01 (Discrete Mfg.) in mid Feb 2010.  At that time, our consultants built the manufacturing calendar (4/4/5), and put the starting date as mid Feb.  This resulted in our manufacturing period start dates to typically fall at the start of the 3rd week of the month (i.e. 2014 dates = 1/20/14, 2/18/14, 3/24/14, etc.)

We have since been acquired (now on 12.1.3), and the new business would like to adjust our period start dates to be more in line with a calendar month, as our financials are based on that.  My research indicates that if using Discrete Mfg., Oracle doesn't support a quarterly type = Calendar months, so we cannot use that.  I have created a new 5/4/4 calendar in a test environment, which brings our period start dates more in line to a calendar month, and have run a test MRP to verify that the period dates fall in line properly going forward.
