Standard Discrete job component substition

Hi All,

I have a scenario where on a standard work order, once released, shop floor uses component B Instead of Componet A (which is defined in BOM).

again, component A is a push type and serialized. deciding to use component B instead of A is very business based.

Is there a approach to solve this? I assume substitute parts doesnt work in work orders.
