MICR Code is not working as expected ?

We recently changed to a Troy printer and now when we print the cheques with the required MICR Font its not working as expected....its created boxes around the numeric values as well the special characters are not working as expected (see attached sreenshot)  Has anoyone come across this issue in R12 and if so how can we resolve this problem?  Thanks for your help
