Need to change asset category setup: Major/Minor/Cost Center AAAAA

I have a request to change the asset category setup from Major/Minor/Cost Center AAAAA to Major/Minor/Cost Center BBBBB.    We use the Cost center to drive depreciation and budget reporting.

From research, it appears that I have to:

1) Create new category:  Major/Minor/Cost Center BBBBB

2) Mass Reclass existing assets to this category

3) Update Inventory Item numbers assigned to asset_category_ID (Major/Minor/Cost Center AAAAA) to new asset_category_ID (Major/Minor/Cost Center BBBBB).

There is not a way to change the original Cost Center AAAAA to BBBBB in the Asset Category setup without creating a new Major/Minor combination?
