11i Year in Accounting calendar - what is it used for?

Hi,

We have an existing calendar,13 periods, defined from 01-nov-2013 -- 31-oct-2014 + one adjustment period.

Year on these periods are 2014.

We now need to change to calendar year (that will work since nothing has been setup regarding periods after 31-oct.2014).

New calendar will be created like this:

1) 13 periods = 01-nov-2014 -- 31-dec-2014 + 11 adjustment periods

2) 13 peirods = 01-jan-2015 -- 31-dec-2014 + one adjustment period.

On number 2) we would like to set Year= 2015

On number 1) - we can't use Year=2014 since that already exists. Is it possible to use for example Year=20142 instead of using Year = 2015?

Anybody knowing the affect of using a non existing Year when defining calendar? Is it possible?

Howdy, Stranger!
