raw devices in linux for oracle asm

in Linux Operating System (MOSC) Question


Hello,

Please advise how do we implement raw devices in linux.By default they are created as block devices on creating a lv .After the lv was mapped to raw dev after server restart the mapping gtot lost.

We need Oracle ASM diskgroups to be created using lvs but asm in 11g doesn't support block devices hence we need raw devices.
