StorageTek 2540 battery status of "shutting down" in Service Advisor?

Is it okay to reset the battery expiration timer of a battery that is in the state of "shutting down" and status "error" within service advisor?

In Service Advisor help the battery should be in a state of "enable" and status "okay" before resetting the battery age.

In the main CAM window the battery is showing as expired.
