Deploy Plug-ins on Management Servers: Prerequisite Checks - hangs

I have an installation of EM 12c 12.1.0.4 on an EL6 environment.  When I attempt to deploy any plug-in to the management server, it starts the prerequisite checks and hangs at 50% completed on the "validate plug-in home" step.  I don't see any explicit errors logged in the trace or log files for the deployment (attached).  I'm not certain what else to check at this point.
