Line type W in Sales order

Hi,

I am using JDE 9.1, If I enter line type W in the sales order work order will be created. I want to know in which scenario we use this line type. If we have stock if this item it will sitll raise the order .

It has any relastion ship with pick date of sales order.

Can supply/Demand view by Planner number.

Please let me know if there is any document on this.
