interect connection not working and secure ftp not working

at 8:00am this morning all our secure ftp jobs ran successfully, at noon they all failed, I also noticed that the Linux server that they run from cannot connect to the internet..everything times out..

restarted the server but it didn't fix the problem.

ifconfig shows everything is UP..

firewall is not running ..
