client connect through EZconnect

Hello,

If the client application vendor directs the application to use EZconnect to connect to oracle rac database would the tns entry not be used in that case?

How would we make the client aware that which service port and host client needs to connect to the database server.I have not used EZconnect as of now I only bunderstand that EZconnect can read scan listener  and for this EZConnect should be used in sqlnet.ora as one of authentication methods.
