Loading Sub Ledger Data

I was testing my sub ledger loads into ARM and have a question:

Does ARM have a way of taking the previous ending balance for the sub ledger (i.e. Period Aug-2014) and then taking my periodic load from Sept 2014 and adding the load so I get a proper balance to compare to my GL ?

I'm suspecting ARM does not have a way to do that and I need to pull in all transactions from my subledger to get the right balance.

Our approach would be to create a data view and then pull that data through FDMEE using the Open Interface Adapter.
