variable rent - revenue recognition over the lease period

Hi

The lease agreement mentioned with Base Rent 100/sq m or 5% of the turnover which ever is greater (variable rent).  In addition to this another clause mentioned that the rent will be free for 6 months.

In this case we would like to recognize the revenue in straight line basis over the lease period.  ie no invoice generated for the 1st 6 months but the revenue need to be recognized/

I can use variable rent to calculate the rent.  How can i normalize the revenue over the lease period.  Is there any other method to achieve this ?
