ZFS3-2 Cluster, IPMP, Linux and multipath configuration

Hello,

After troubleshooting and testing our local configuration, I just want to see if I understand everything correctly.

  Setup:

  •   2 clustered heads, 1 24 disks shelf, 1 pool with all disks
  •   10Gbps ethernet network, only 1 switch, both heads and linux test server connected directly to it (no routing, no spanning tree)

  •   One IPMP interface using two 10G interfaces. Created 1 LUN made available over iSCSI via one target/target group, matched to the IPMP interface

  Question:

Reading the documentation, if I understand correctly with this configuration, there will only be 1 path visible from my Linux initiator to the LUN I created, right ? In case of a failover/takeover the IPMP interface and all attached elements would move to head2, and the Linux initiator would still see it in the exact same path, via the same iSCSI portal/port combination and have no trouble?

Howdy, Stranger!
