case insensitive setting

We use RH 6.4  linux  x86_64 with Oracle 11.2.0.4 (Linux)
We have the same third party application in two environments (TEST and PROD) that use an instance DB Oracle 11.2.0.4 g  (TEST and PROD).
From the application we start a search with key:  'Ebola' or 'ebola', the system returns different set of documents in PROD as in TEST . I would like to check if the origin of this problem could be in the initialisation parameters/ or setting in Oracle DB . Do you know please witch parameters or setting  variables should be verified ?
