Alternate Resources in OPM

Hi,

I setup the Alternate Resources in OPM. But, When I go to production batches, I don't see anywhere I can select the alternate resources.  We dont wan't to control Alternate Resource through Planning ( We are implementing Unconstrained Based Planning).  So, What are the options available to implement Alternate Resource functionality without using Planning.        I understand, we can directly add new adhoc resources in the batch. But, that become like a deviation/rework.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.
