Not enough free IPs to configure utility addresses -- can I reuse network interface IP?

Hi All

     Relevant info:

Acme net-net 4500 on SCX 6.3.9 m4 code.

Outside SIP interface                x.x.188.180/29

SBC1 Outside network int         x.x.188.179/29

SBC2 Outside network int         x.x.188.178/29

All the other IP addresses in the subnet are assigned to other devices except one free IP.

I'm trying to configure HA with configuration checkpointing, signalling checkpointing and media state checkpointing.  The documentation calls for primary and secondary utility IPs on each media interface to be configured within the assigned subnet from unused IP addresses.   In my devices, the inside (to core) has two IPs free and I have no issues with configuration on that network interface.  Unfortunately I don't have two unused IPs free within the outside (to carrier) subnet I was given.  The obvious solution is to extend the subnet and we're pursuing that.  However, I need information on alternative configurations.

Howdy, Stranger!
