SmartView - retrieve data when using alias option

Hi. We have some people that use Smart View (11.1.2.2) to retrieve data from a planning app...when the settings are set to member only there are no issues retrieving data, however when they toggle to use Alias only sometime data does not retrieve. The useres are using the HSGetValue formual.I understand that Alias option should be set from None to Default. Are there any other option settings that need to be made? Is there anything else we should be considering?
