stale index stats - ind_statistics

Hi,

For 11.2.0.3

For Automatic maintaince task - always succeeds

For Gather optimiser stats - always succeeds

I'm interested to know how index stats are becoming stale (in dba_ind_statistics) when table stats (in dba_tab_statisics) are NOT stale?? Can I avoid it by setting some magic options. Or is it really something someone shouldn't be worried of in a warehouse env??
