Have you experienced any performance issues when activating gapless GL document sequences?

Currently we have multiple legal entities within a single Ledger and GL document sequencing is not enabled. We are exploring enabling GL Document Sequencing in these ledgers in order to allow the assignment of a unique number to each journal entry. This number will be used to query journal entries and provide an audit trail and a manually-referenced link to external documents (users may note the Document Number on their external documents that make up the journal entry).

We have the option to make this Sequence be automatically assigned (but not gapless) or gapless. We would like to know if there are known performance issues if we make this document sequence gapless rather than not.
