Pegging related question

Hi,

I'm looking at different methods of pegging available (Standard,FIFO, priority etc) and have following questions :

1)  Is there a guideline about which pegging method to be used based on the industry type, plan horizon, plan type (MPS,MRP) etc ? 

     I understand exact answer will depend on what end user wants,but any guideline based on the actual project experience is appreciated

2)  When pegging is enabled, it gives planners the ability to see the supplies pegged to demands. But releasing a planned order to EBS will not honor this pegging information (for reservations or linking the WIP job to the SO demand on
