Confusion about the use of archives without L0 backups

Hi,

Database is in archivelog mode and we are taking archive backups without having any L0 backups. Can these archive backups be used in the future in case we need to restore any datafile or recover datafile from block corruption. Means is there any any use of these backups?

Also need to know if I keep archives for last 48 hours, will those archives useful for any case(i.e. restore or recovery of anything without having L0 backup)???
