"Busy Cursor" displayed when user drills down to a record without permission

In 8.1.1.9 OpenUI, if a user drills down on a record to which they do not have permission (for example, from the "Recent Records" applet) then the usual message is displayed (SBL-DAT-00309) but the OpenUI "busy" cursor is displayed for about 20 seconds. In Firefox, the user is unable to navigate or doing anything else during this time.

I wonder if anyone has come across this specific behaviour (when SBL-DAT-00309 is generated) and whether there is a JS workaround that we can incorporate into our 8.1.1.9 configuration?

I've seen many mentions of the "busy cursor" but it always seems like users can continue working in those examples - in our case, the user is not able to do anything while the cursor is displayed.

Howdy, Stranger!
