P31093 - Capacity Consumed

Hi,

Can anyone please help me understand Capacity Consumed field in Line/Item Relationship (P31093). Is there any relationship between Standard capacity field in Work Center. Would like to know how and what gets affected when the value in the consumed capacity field changes. I could only find that this field is multiplied by the ordered quantity to give the Consumed Resource in Scheduling Workbench. but I need to understand this in details.
