COGS break down by sub elements and send to GL

We are on R12.1.3 and have the requirement to break down sales order shipping COGS entries by material, overhead, labor etc, as now everything lumpsum together into 1 account and causing finance reporting issues. Requirement is to break down by those elements and generate GL journal lines accordingly.

Based on an oracle metalink note, it is not supported by standard function.

Can COGS Break Down Similar To Material Cost Elements Break Down? (Doc ID 1627709.1)

So I would like to confirm this function is not supported by oracle, we are trying to avoid customize COGS engine.  Anyone done a solution for this requirement already? appreciate your inputs. thanks
