Heap size exceeds notification in Oracle 10g

Hi All

I recently received a Heap Size exceed notification in Oracle 10g database alert log file.  And I saw some references in web that discuss to set the “_kgl_large_heap_warning_threshold “parameter in parameter file. Can I overcome this issue by increasing the size of SGA?  If I not set this parameter, is there any impact to the database performance?
