ASM on Live Upgrade: issues

Ok,

First, some background to set the stage:

We've been using Live upgrade to keep a patched version of the running Operation System (Solaris 10) and a current prior patched version of the same system in queue for over two years now. I patch my systems quarterly always using the tested Oracle patchset clusters.

This past months Oracle Cluster Patch, security patches and the ever popular SHELL-SHOCK patches were all implemented on several of my LU patch systems. The databases are are running Oracle 11.2.0.4 on ASM. Every one of them has failed to render a working databases system, leaving the ASM configuration file on the old LU and not transferring any of the files over to the newly patched LU.
