How to bypass 11i Extended Support patches for upgarding 11.5.10.2 to 12.2

Hi,

As per  Oracle E-Business Suite Upgrade Guide Release 11i to R12.2 , 11.5.10.2 has direct upgrade path to 12.2. For this, Extended Support patches has to be applied on 11.5.10.2.
as per Note 883202.1. But we are finding that we have to apply around 150+ patches, which included certain big patches, rup and minipacks for 11i extended support.

With this in view, please suggest if the path 11.5.10.2 -> 12.1 -> 12.2 would be a more convinient path ?
