Solaris 11 pkg update Q

in Oracle Solaris System Administration (MOSC) Question

Hi All,

Pls be inormed that we have run the pkg update in Solaris 11 but forget to boot the system until a couple of days later.  It is noted that the /etc/hosts files is updated after "pkg update" is lost after reboot the system.  So, we hope to know is that normal? Or we have to reboot the system right after the pkg udpate?
