Is there a way to programatically update work center resource units?

We would like to make changes to the resource units on groups of work centers on a routine basis.  Example - planner found out 25 work centers will be shut down for two days next week.  The next day the plan changes and these work centers will be shut down tomorrow.

We need the ability to rely on capacity scheduling and to dynamically fine tune resource units.
