Accounting Entries for Purchase of an Asset
Dear Experts, I have a confusion in accounting entries generated at the time of Purchase of an asset. I am clear about entries created in Payables and Assets, but I am confused about accounting entries generated at the time of PO receipt.
In Payables:
Asset Clearing Account (Dr.)
Payable to Creditors (Cr.)
In Assets:
Asset Cost Account (Dr.)
Asset Clearing Account (Cr.)
But what would be the entry at the time of PO receipt? At which point AP Accrual account hit? Kindly help with explaining the complete accounting entry. Starting from Purchasing till Assets.
