Rehosting an Essbase server for Planning apps

  Hi gurus,


We are in the process of migrating our Essbase 11.1.2.3.501 server to an Exalytics box.

We followed the steps described in the "REHOSTING ESSBASE ON EXALYTICS FOR USE WITH PLANNING RELEASE 11.1.2.1" document ( http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/bi-foundation/rehost-essbase-exalytics-11121-1974055.pdf ) and used the EAS Migration Wizard to migrate all Essbase and Planning apps ( note that we are staying within the same instance / environment). Our testing was successful.

Now a colleague mentioned yesterday we should not be using the EAS Migration Wizard to migrate Planning apps as these will be tagged as Essbase only. Instead we should be running a Create from Planning to create the Essbase app and DB folders on the new server (tagged as Planning).
