Upgrade from 10 to 11g or 12c?

Hi ...

We are running four nodes of RAC and planning to upgrade our database (10.2.0.5) that run over HP-UX 11.31

by next year. my questions are

1- What is pre-check assessment tool that is useful in out case?

2- Based on Oracle life policy and most stable version so far from Oracle? what is the best option? 11.2.0.4 or wait for 12.2

usually, we know R2 is stable version .
