Forecast Consumption by customer group?

I have used Forecast Consumption in general and I have seen consumption can be used for single large customers. Can it be used also for customer groups? What I mean is: I have a forecast compounded of European and North American sales; I would like the actual orders coming from Europe to consume the European part of the forecast, but not the American part; so I am sure I will have goods available for the American orders, when they arrive. Do you think it is possible?
