Siebel Upgrade - From 8.1.1.6 SEA to SIA

we are planning to upgrade our current sea to SIA.Just trying to find which version would be perfect based on user experience.And an overview on the upgrade steps would also be helpful.

Our current 8.1.1.6 env is on  sql 2005. We also would like to move to SQL 2012.

Any input / overview on the process is appreciated.
