12c database examples OUI installation stuck saying "Retrieving ASM cluster file system information"

Hello All,

I am trying to install Oracle 12c database examples using OUI and its stuck on step 2 (where we specify ORACLE_BASE and ORACLE_HOME).

I've provided the values for ORACLE_HOME (ORACLE_BASE was set and greyed out) and upon clicking next its saying "Retrieving ASM cluster file system information" and stuck there for more than 12 hours now...even in the log file, the last line is exactly the same.

INFO: Loading beans from Xml Bean Store. [BeanStoreName:oui-metadata]

INFO: Retrieving ASM Cluster File System information...

Server : Linux 64-bit

OS : RHEL 6.5

Database : Oracle 12.1.0.1 (s/w only installed) (non-RAC)
