How to prevent user from updating Item with "Active" status but allow for item with "Pending" status in Product Information Management (PIM).

Problem Description

---------------------------------------------------

After the item is approved through new item request and the status of the item is changed to 'Active" status,the requester of the new item request is able to update the item.How to prevent/restrict users from updating Item with 'active' status but allowing them to update the items with 'Pending' status in PIM.
