Hiding a report prompt on a dashboard

Short of deleting the prompt on a report, is there a way to prevent a report prompt from appearing on a dashboard. I want some users to be able to use a report on a dashboard with the dashboard prompts, and other users use the same report as a stand-alone prompted report. I'd rather not have two versions of the report.
