Production Number not updates from Sales order if requested date in Future

Hi All,

I have activated an item as production number controlled. This item is with Line Type W. When I create a SO with requested date as today the Sales Order is updated with the correct Production number based on the setup and the WO also gets update with the Production number. When I create a SO with requested date in future the SO line is updated with the production number but the same Production number is not carried to the Work Order.

Can anyone help me understand what is getting affected with production number updating the WO when the requested date is in future even Today+1 doesn't work.
