Hierarchical List Applet in OpenUI - problem with "Show More"

Our "Action" based Hierarchical List Applet works fine in OpenUI - it renders a little 'o' where there are no children and a little arrow when there are:

However, when a user clicks the "Show More" button, the arrow disappears and we lose all Hierarchical List Applet functionality:

From that point on, only a page refresh will restore the functionality.

Anyone come across this before? We're on Siebel 8.1.1.9 with QF0101008 and QF0001086.
