Barcode toolbar in 8.1.1.11

Does 8.1.1.11 has the capability of supporting 'Barcode toolbar'? The field services PDF for 2013 IP discuss about this. We tried the settings but no luck. There are also other references that this is being supported in 8.1.1.14 as part of 'Global Search'. We are going to create an SR but trying to get some answers.
